I grew this little Asian pepper this year. When I was in the South Pacific on the Islands we used to go out and get boonie peppers before a big BBQ and slice them up in the BBQ sauce. I finally found a plant here in the States. Introduced my Neighbor to them and he was over here picking them when I was gone one day. They are a 1inch long red pepper and have a serious initial bite with no lasting burn. Excellent to cook with cuz the flavor is outstanding and stays in like chili or Salsa. I dried them along with the Jalapenios and the Fajita bell peppers I grew and ground them all together along with some dried tomatoe. I put this stuff in everything I cook (for myself). Next year definately putting in some Habenero's, Cayenne's, and Hungarians. _________________ SEABEES "CAN DO"

| Quote: | | John do you make a true salsa with all the veggies pureed or do you make more of a pico de gallo with chunky veggies? |
Krat we make it both ways and yes Pico de gallo is great I like the chucks too. But I bought a salsa grinder that separates the seeds and skins while leaving the tomato in good sized pieces. It really makes the process faster and it works great with regular tomatoes. This year my wife and I grew 42 Salsa tomato plants very similar to a Roma tomato. It will go mostly into salsa and tomato sauce.

Nighstalker, anything with grilled jalapeno and bacon added would be good! I roast jalapenos almost always as I especially like the smokey flavor. |

Pretty easy, huh??!! That's one of the reasons I've had one for so long. It's a breeze to break down, and clean!! Best "Poor man's" shotgun I've seen!! _________________ Remington 597M Simmons 4-12x40 AO

13 years and literally 10's of thousands of rounds through mine and still hold up to anything I throw at them. However my safety quit working on my older one, I called Mossberg and they said send it in. the Safeties are always covered no matter how old the gun is. I guess while they have it I'll have them go through the whole thing and replace anything that needs it. _________________ SEABEES "CAN DO"

Well I got some paint in the action of mine and it has never been as smooth as it was when I first got it so I am gonna go in, clean and polish some stuff up but I had no idea it was the one pin then it all pretty much falls apart. My day is looking brighter _________________ God bless the troops |

Yeah I figured out how to do it one day by accident. Good video though. I put it up as a link in the links section. _________________ SEABEES "CAN DO"

Well i did it ... And I have to say this .. .It amazes me that gun worked LOL .. I have hunted with that gun for some time now. Rabbit dove quail turkey duck so forth and so forth .. And have not done a cleaning like that .. I just do the normal pull the barrel slide the action back and clean what I can because that it how I was taught to clean a shotgun .. Well ... I had food for all walks of life in the action HAHAHAH .. GOOD LORD ... Cleaned everything up got the paint of lubed and back together .. Not glass but a deffinate improvement. Seems like it got better the more I cycled it so I guess I need a good dove shoot to get things moving real good _________________ God bless the troops |

I think the Mossy 500 is to shotguns like what the AK is to auto's. Meaning they are hard to beat. there is so much slop in all the parts (like the AK) that no matter what you do or run through it it's still going to cycle and fire. The 870 isn't like this in my opinion because their tolerances are tighter. _________________ SEABEES "CAN DO"
